Symposium Description

The US Department of Energy is in the process of establishing federal energy standards and test procedures for fans and blowers. An AMCA task force has been working with advocacy groups and DOE to arrive at application dependent compliance metrics, which maximize energy savings. This new and completely different from the current FEG metric referenced in ASHRAE 90.1.

The timeline for DOE enforcement will also be discussed.

Dr. Ganesh will discuss fan application errors, omissions and mistakes that can result in fan surge, system effect and unwanted system sound levels. He will also discuss actual case studies and resolutions used to rectify the problem.
